The materials contained in the International Brotherhood of Pottery and Allied Workers (IBPAW) archives are both numerous and varied. The first three series are related in that they include materials that directly originated with or were indirectly generated by the International Headquarters of the IBPAW located in East Liverpool, Ohio. The fourth the fifth segments consist of materials created by or received during the course of operations of the various local unions located throughout the United States and Canada. The last three series are categorized according to the format of the material.

The International Brotherhood of Pottery and Allied Workers (IBPAW), commonly referred to by its earlier name, the National/International Brotherhood of Operative Potters (NBOP/IBOP), is a union affiliated with the AFL/CIO.
